Sports Information

As one half of perhaps the most storied rivalry in college athletics, the Naval Academy is one of the most recognizable higher learning institutions as well as athletics programs nationwide. Located within a half hour drive of both the nation's capitol, Washington D.C. and Baltimore, print and electronic media representing some of the most well respected media outlets regularly interact with Naval Academy coaches and student-athletes. The Mids are covered daily by the Annapolis Capital, Baltimore Sun, Baltimore Examiner, Washington Times and Washington Post, while also receiving substantial television coverage from the eight local network stations and two regional cable networks.

In March of 2005, CBS College Sports Network (formerly CSTV), the first 24-hour college sports network, secured the long-term exclusive television rights to all home and select neutral site Navy football games (excluding Notre Dame and Army which will be televised nationally by CBS), as well as other Navy men's and women's athletic events and original programming and documentaries centered around the storied Navy athletic program. The long-term multi-media agreement includes internet streaming, broadband, video-on-demand rights and high definition rights.

Media Services
The Navy Sports Information Office works closely with its coaches and student-athletes in facilitating media requests on a daily basis. Some of the media services provided by the sports information office providing game previews for each of its 31 varsity sports, producing game programs for its home events, game notes for select sports, as well as generating overall and game statistics. Additionally, the sports information office coordinates press conferences and interview requests.

The Navy Sports Information Office provides around the clock coverage of Navy athletics at www.NavySports.com, the official web site of Naval Academy athletics. Updated releases, bios, statistics, live stats and audio and video links are regularly generated via the web site.
